Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Remembrance Day!
On Tuesday we held our Remembrance Day service, lead by year 5 students. It was wonderful to see them conduct such a moving and respectful ceremony, honouring the significance of the day with pride and maturity.
Beach to Bush!
Spring Hill was lucky enough to welcome Bill and Karen from the NSW Surf life Saving Beach to Bush Program.
Students had a fantastic time learning all about beach and water safety - from how to spot rips and bluebottles to why it's so important to always swim between the red and yellow flags.
Grandparents Day, Art Show and Book Week
This year, our school combined Grandparents Day, our Art Show, and Book Week celebrations into one wonderful morning!
We began with a Book Week parade and assembly, followed by a range of fun rotations that included board games, boccia, crown making, frame and bauble decorating, and of course, the ever-popular Bingo with Mrs Mac!
Parents and grandparents were also able to view our spectacular Art Show, curated by the talented Deina. Our amazing students’ artworks were proudly on display for everyone to enjoy.
Our grandparents and families were then treated to a delicious lunch to finish off the morning.
A huge thank you to Miss Em for organising such a fantastic day for everyone to enjoy!
Spring Hill Bike Cup Day
Students arrived with bikes, scooters and helmets decorated in full preparation for the big event.
The day kicked off with rotations of a bike safety quiz, bike safety checklist, discussions around bike safety, understanding your bike and making bike safety posters.
The real fun then began with a "Best Helmet Parade" and "Best Bike on Show" and a bike race and obstacle course testing balance, control and skill.
The children showed their amazing bike and scooter skills and with the help of our amazing parents, the day was a huge success!
Infants Tabloids Day
Spring Hill Public School was filled with laughter, determination and excitement as infant students from Clergate Public, Cudal Public, Molong Central, Cargo Public and Mullion Creek Public joined in a fun-filled day of Yulunga Games and Fundamental Movement Skills activities lead by the Spring Hill senior students.
Students had the chance to make new friends and develop their skills as they rotated through 15 different stations. The sun was shining, the barbeque sausages were delicious, and the ice blocks and oranges at the end of the day were a perfect way to cool down!
A huge thank you to all the visiting schools, teachers and helpers who made the day such a memorable and enjoyable event!

The OAMIES Kids Awards celebrated and encouraged students across key development areas such as academic achievement, leadership, cultural engagement and community spirit.
Congratulations to Isla, Kingston and Zahria, who were recognised for their outstanding achievements and for inspiring our school community. The students attended the event with Miss Em at the OAMS Showcase in Orange.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health professionals who shared their stories of resilience, success and community contribution.

Year 3-4 Science in Action
Our budding engineers in Year 3-4 took on the Bridge Building Challenge this week! Their task was to design and build a bridge that could span a 20cm gap - using only simple materials like straws, sticks, tape and cardboard.
Students planned their bridges, thought about shapes and strength, and then put their designs to the test to see how much weight they could hold.
Lots of creativity, problem solving and teamwork on display. Well done engineers!
Verse Speaking Champions!
Spring Hill Public School proudly won 1st place at the Orange Eisteddfod in the Small Schools Verse Speaking Choir section - with an incredible score of 95%.
Well done to our amazing students and the wonderful Mrs Mac!
Tick-Tock, Creativity Clock!
Our year 3-4 students made interactive clocks from cardboard and split pins to show hours and minutes.
Who knew learning could be this fun!
K-2 STEM fun!
Our K-2 students took on the classic Humpty Dumpty challenge this week! First, they put pen to paper to predict what would happen, then they built walls from blocks for Humpty to tumble from...... and then the real fun began!
Using all sorts of creative designs, the students built protective "homes" to keep Humpty safe. Finally, we put their inventions to the test by dropping our Humpty eggs from different heights.
There were gasps, cheers, and plenty of crack ups, but most importantly, lots of learning and laughter!
Kids in Space Program!
Our students have been busing using 3D printers to create models for our Kids in Space program. Working in teams, students were challenged to design solutions to real-world problems on Earth or in Space by applying space technologies.
It's been amazing to see their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork come to life through their designs!
Healthy Smiles at School!
Dr Yvette Rainbow, Dr Tanvi Shah and dental assistant Nikki from the Charles Sturt University Dental and Oral Health Clinic made a visit to our school to share the importance of oral health.
Students spent time learning about the importance of brushing, flossing and mouthguards for sport and what to do in case of dental injuries. It was an informative and valuable session that left our students with plenty of practical tips to keep their smiles healthy.
From Gruffalos to Great Adventure!
The day began when our K-4 students went to the Orange Civic Theatre for a wonderful performance of The Gruffalo's Child, brought to life through physical theatre, music, and puppetry that delivered songs, scares, and plenty of laughs. After enjoying lunch and a play to stretch legs, students headed to the Orange Regional Museum where they had the absolute time of the lives exploring the "On the Move" exhibition.
This highly engaging exhibition offered hands on discoveries of incredible journeys, unique inventions, amazing vehicles, and intrepid explorers from across the country. A truly unforgettable experience for our students!
State Boccia in Sydney!
A big congratulations to our amazing students and Mrs Mac who represented our school at the State Boccia Competition in Sydney.
Our new team - Destiny, Jax, Michael and Oscar showed incredible skill, determination and heart and did our school proud on the big stage.
Thank you to our wonderful families who travelled with the team and cheered our stars on from the side-lines - your support means the world!
